Multi-dimensional Metrics of Equality as a Predictor of Violence Against Women

Associated Awards

I was one of two students granted the Garland Richmond Summer Research Grant (2019) to pursue a nationally competitive full-time research residency at Emory University with students across several universities. I was additionally able to pursue a residency at the Emory Institute of Human Rights to facilitate my work.  My work was also funded and supported by the Interdisciplinary Exploration and Scholarship Fellowship with a grant.

Description

I conducted a project on evaluating the multi-dimensional metrics of women's empowerment and gender parity across more than fifty countries as a predictor of violence against women. This was my first "real" exposure to designing and conducting a research project outside of the classroom, where I was able to present my results at the Emory Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium (2019).
